Content tab and CMS

The Content tab edits your site's content where it already lives: files in your repository, git-based CMS collections, and entries in Sanity, Contentful, Storyblok and Prismic. It reads each collection's schema and builds a form for it.

The Content tab: a bakery site's menu collection, with each entry's status as Live, Changes or Draft.

Content editing comes with Starter, Pro and Agency. Starter and up On Free you can read the entries kept in your repository.

Content in your repositoryLink to this section

Choose Content in the editor's top bar. Xodia finds your content collections from Astro, Keystatic, Decap, TinaCMS or Nuxt Content, and the Markdown folders in content or src/content, and lists each entry with whether it is live, changed or a draft.

  • One file per entry (Markdown, MDX, Markdoc or YAML), or a JSON list of entries, in a table you can search and page through.
  • Forms from the schema: text, dates and times, email, phone, colours, links, video, files, choices, lists, images and references to other entries.
  • Uploads go straight into the media folders your CMS config names.
  • The body in Markdown with a formatting bar and a preview; front matter keeps its comments and order.

Changes to files join your draft, show in Save, and go live when you publish, like every other edit.

Your site's code has to read from the CMS first. Then connect it in the Content tab:

  1. Open the Content tab

Before a CMS is connected, the Content tab shows its connect card, with Connect and the CMS's name.

  2. Paste a token

Create a token in your CMS and paste it. Choose Find to fill in the CMS's settings, such as the project or space, then choose Connect.

  3. Edit

The CMS's content types show as collections. Edits are saved in the CMS as drafts, and Publish puts them live. Prismic saves them to a release that you publish in Prismic.

The Content tab on a Contentful site before it's connected: Connect Contentful, with the token pasted and hidden, the settings filled in, and Connect. Xodia keeps the token encrypted and never gives it to your agent or the site's code.

  • Publish and Unpublish in Sanity, Contentful and Storyblok, and Discard changes in Sanity and Contentful.
  • Pick images and files from the CMS's media library or upload new ones.
  • If someone changed an entry in the CMS meanwhile, Xodia says so instead of overwriting it.
  • Rich text, Portable Text, bloks and slices show read only. One locale is edited, the default unless you choose another.
  • CMS content is shared by every branch.

A token stops workingLink to this section

If the CMS stops accepting the saved token, the Content tab asks you to reconnect. Paste a new token. Tokens are kept encrypted and never shown again.

Note:

For what the Content tab doesn't cover, such as content types, previews and the CMS's config in your code, your AI follows a skill pack for your CMS, on Starter, Pro and Agency.
