A collection page gives every item its own address, so every item needs its own title, description and share image too. You write them once as templates with field tokens, and each item fills them in with its own values.

Open the collection in the Content tab and choose its Collection page tab. These settings are part of Xodia CMS, on every plan. Every plan The tab names the page's address, such as /blog/:slug, with Open collection page to see it on the canvas. A collection page doesn't count toward the Free plan's [4 pages a site](https://docs.xodia.ai/billing/plans#page-limit): only static pages count toward that limit.

## Templates with field tokens

A template is text with fields in curly brackets. Choose Add field beside a box to put one in:

Title tag:

```
{title} | Blog
```

Meta description:

```
{summary}
```

Fields lists the collection's own fields; Item lists the slug and the item's dates: published, created and updated. Each item's page shows the template with its own values. With an AI connected, Generate asks it to write the template for you.

## Previews that step through your items

Preview with, at the top of the tab, picks an item from the collection; the arrows step to the previous or next one. The search result preview and the share preview show that item's title, description and image, so you can check a long title or an empty summary before a visitor does.

## Search results

- **Title tag:** the title search engines and the browser tab show.
- **Meta description:** one or two sentences under the title in search results.

## Social sharing

What shows when someone shares an item's page, from its Open Graph tags:

- Title same as the SEO title, and Description same as the meta description, both on at first. Turn one off to give it a template of its own.
- Share image: an image field of the collection, such as the cover, or the site's default image.

## Indexing

- **Canonical address:** leave it empty to use each item's own address, or write a template such as https://example.com/blog/{slug} when the items have a main copy elsewhere.
- **Search engines:** Index every item, Never index these pages, or hide only the items where a switch field is on, such as a Hide from search switch on each item.

## Structured data

Choose a type, Article, Product, Event or Job posting, and Xodia fills in a JSON-LD template from your fields, such as the headline from the title and the date published from the item's date. Change it in the code box, or choose Custom and write your own. Field values are escaped for JSON, so a quote in a title can't break it.

## Custom code

Code for this collection's pages only, inside the head and before the closing body tag, with field tokens resolved for each item. It goes after the site's own custom code from Settings. The code box has search, Prettify and line wrapping.

- Field values are HTML-escaped, so they always show as text.
- To put a plain or rich text value in as HTML, turn on Safe to use as HTML in custom code for that field in the Fields tab, then write the token with |raw, such as {embed|raw}. Only do this when everyone who edits items is trusted: a value with a script in it would run on the page.

## Published item pages with real content

When your host builds the site, the CMS kit writes one HTML page per published item at its own address, with its title, description, share tags, canonical address, noindex, structured data and custom code, and with the item's content inside it: the title, the fields its collection page shows and the body. Search engines and link previews read them without running the site's JavaScript, and draft items get no page.

> **Tip:** Share images need the site's full address. Hosts that tell the build their address, such as Netlify and Vercel, work as they are; elsewhere set VITE_SITE_URL to your address, such as https://example.com, in the host's environment variables.

### Static pages

Pages that aren't collection pages keep their own settings in the Pages panel; see [SEO, page settings and speed tests](https://docs.xodia.ai/seo). To show an item's fields on the page itself, see [Bind content on the canvas](https://docs.xodia.ai/content/bind).
